The new Lexus LF-ZL concept depicts a future luxury electric flagship SUV that would, employ next-generation technology and software from the new Arene OS. The LF-ZL, which stands for 'Lexus Future Zero-emission Luxury,' previews the brand's future flagship model and reflects a distinct combination of luxury lifestyle and distinct design, all driven by next-generation battery technology.

The LF-ZL is one of two electric ideas introduced by Lexus today at the Japan Mobility Show, the other being the LF-ZC Concept, which will go into production in 2026.

Lexus LF-ZL: Design

The LF-ZL is a crossover that measures 5,300 mm long, 2,020 mm wide, and 1,700 mm high, with a 3,350 mm wheelbase. It is powered by next-generation battery-electric vehicle architecture and software from the new Arene operating system.

The LF-ZL utilizes a set of doors that open to expose the absence of B-pillars, and with conventional front doors and sliding rear doors, this arrangement provides more roomy entrance and departure points for the back seat occupants, who are accommodated by two separate seats.

Lexus LF-ZL: Powertrain

The usage of high-performance batteries from parent firm Toyota is one of the LF-ZL's primary features. These next-generation prismatic batteries are predicted to have a longer range, be lighter, and perform better overall.

While Lexus claims that a single charge may provide up to 1,000 kilometres for the LF-ZC, the bigger SUV body of the LF-ZL may result in a somewhat lower range unless the company incorporates a larger-size battery into its future flagship.

Lexus LF-ZL: Interior

The LF-ZL interior includes a dual-widescreen infotainment system that interacts with the Arene OS to anticipate the driver's demands for a more personalized experience. The steering wheel has been redesigned, with the top angled away from the driver and two tiny screens on either side displaying the gear selector and infotainment.

The passenger has access to crucial automobile functions via a big infotainment display. The two back seats appear to be built into the car's bodywork and take the form of big 'business class-style' reclining lounge chairs with pop-out leg rests.
