Lamborghini, the Italian supercar marque, has marked a significant milestone in India as it recently delivered the 150th Huracán. This achievement follows the announcement made almost a year ago when Lamborghini handed over the 200th Urus SUV in India. Further, the brand recorded sales of 400 units in March 2022 since its inception in 2007, highlighting its growing presence in the Indian market. The Huracán's success over the course of nine years can be attributed to the exciting additions to its family, comprising 12 road versions and three racing variants, says the brand. Notably, Lamborghini has brought almost all Huracán models to India.

The Huracán made its world debut in 2014 with the coupe version, which was later joined by the Spyder variant. The subsequent release of the rear-wheel-drive models, the Performante in 2016 and the Performante Spyder in 2018, showcasing performance capabilities with several lap records.

In 2019, Lamborghini unveiled the new Huracán EVO in both coupe and Spyder versions with the next-generation V10 engine. The track-oriented Huracán STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) arrived in 2021, while its toned-down version, the Huracán Tecnica, was introduced in 2022. While there has been a range of track-focused and high-performance Huracán models, the Huracán Sterrato, an all-terrain sports car equipped with a V10 engine and all-wheel drive, took the Huracán nameplate to the next-level. Sadly, the Huracán will be the last model to come powered by a naturally aspirated V10. Its successor, scheduled to arrive in late 2024, will get a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, said, "From daily driving to thrilling performance on track, the Huracán was designed as a car to provide super sports emotion in every environment. Every iteration of the Huracán has stayed true to that Lamborghini philosophy and has delivered an evolution of design, technological know-how, driving adventures, track records and sales records since its launch. The delivery of the 150th Huracán in India is a testament to its appeal to customers in the super sports car segment who are looking for an emotionally charging experience of a race car's powerful technology in everyday driving on the roads."
