KTM 390 Duke to be launched in India in 30-45 days
Our first ride of the KTM 390 Duke is a few hours away but here are some details that will interest you guys.
First, the 390 Duke will be launched in India within 45 days from today with deliveries expected in June. While it looks identical to the 200 Duke, the 390's engine shares its crankcase castings with its lesser-powered sibling. The cylinder is new and comes with a chrome-plated bore and forged piston. The gearbox is also all-new and has different ratios than the 200. While we are still waiting for the 0-100kmph times, KTM has officially announced a top speed of 160kmph for the 390 Duke. To reign in all that power, the 390 Duke comes with disc brakes, both front and rear but most importantly with switchable ABS.
Other juicy bits include the fact that unlike the 200 Duke which wears locally made MRF rubber boots, the 390 comes with high-grip Metzeler tyres. What's more, once you wear them out, Bajaj ProBiking showrooms will sell you replacement Metzeler tyres. Claimed fuel efficiency of the 390 Duke is 29.4kmpl. With pricing expected to be close to the Rs 2 lakh mark, the 390 Duke is definitely the bike to wait for this year.
