Kia India has begun accepting reservations for the Kia EV6 electric crossover. Customers may reserve the Kia EV6 for a nominal fee of Rs 3 lakh. Bookings are available only via 15 Kia stores across India or Kia India's official website.

Kia's fleet of Kia Seltos, Kia Sonet, Kia Carnival, and Kia Carens will be joined by the EV6. Kia India will bring the EV6 to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) approach. The EV6 is Kia's most premium model in India, and it will be accessible to 100 customers on a first-come, first-served basis in 2022.

The Kia EV6 will be available in two trim levels: GT and GT-Line AWD. While the RWD version has a maximum output of 229PS and 350 Nm of torque and the AWD version has a maximum output of 347PS and a peak torque of 605 Nm. The Kia EV6 can sprint from zero to 100  kmph in only 5.2 seconds and has an electronically regulated top speed of 192 kmph.

The two 12-inch screens are curved and are set in a single pane of glass for a seamless effect. An augmented reality HUD also shows driving information, navigation prompts, and ADAS functions while the UVO suite of connected-car features, now called Kia Connect, offers EV-related information. Finally, there is an optional 16-speaker Meridian audio system that plays audible sounds to correlate with driving.

Tae-Jin Park, the Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, "The Indian automotive industry is transforming, and Kia is at the forefront of this transformation. Time and again, we have proven it through our world-class products and services that cater to not just to the unmet but also the unfelt needs of Indians. The introduction of EV6 in the country reiterates the same. The EV6 is a wonderful combination of bold design, progressive engineering, innovative technologies, and exciting electric performance. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the finest Kia offering that we are getting to the market."

The EV6 should be the range-topper for Kia in India with prices expected to hover around Rs 60 lakh. Its closest rival will be the soon-to-launch Volvo XC40 Recharge and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5.
