Jeep launches special-edition Meridian Upland and Meridian X in India
American SUV major Jeep has launched two new special-edition models, called the Meridian Upland and Meridian X, in India. Both models feature a few exterior design updates and accessories over the standard Meridian. The carmaker has commenced bookings for the new Meridian Upland and Meridian X across its dealerships and official Jeep India website. Notably, both versions are available for immediate delivery.
Jeep Meridian Upland and Meridian X: Details
The Jeep Meridian Upland features adventure-specific updates, such as a roof carrier, side steps, splash guards, boot organiser, and sunshades, among others. On the other hand, the Jeep Meridian X is a lifestyle-oriented trim focused on comfort. This version offers body-coloured lower-side panels and side mouldings, a grey-painted roof, alloy wheels, and puddle lamps. In addition, the interior of the Meridian X comes with ambient lighting.
Alongside the new special-edition models, the brand has also introduced two new colour schemes: Silvery Moon and Galaxy Blue. The Meridian is also offered in five existing shades: Velvet Red, Pearl White, Brilliant Black, Magnesio Grey, and Techno Metallic Green.
A statement issued by the brand stated that buyers of both the variants will be offered the rear entertainment package with a Wi-Fi enabled 11.6-inch screen to play their favourite apps and content; at 50 per cent of the selling price.
Jeep Meridian: Variants and prices
The regular Meridian is available in two primary trim levels: Limited and Limited (O). The latter also offers a 4x4 system option. Meanwhile, prices of the SUV start at Rs 32.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
Jeep Meridian: Features
The Meridian boasts a bunch of features, such as a fully digital 10.2-inch driver display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight-way electronically adjustable front seats with ventilation function, memory settings for the driver seat, 360deg camera, dual-zone temperature control, a nine-speaker Alpine sound system, a wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, powered boot opening, connected car features, and LED projector headlamps.
It also gets six airbags, adaptive brake lights, an electronic parking brake, traction control, ESC, ABS with EBD, electronic roll mitigation, hill start assist, TPMS, and hill descent control. Jeep has bestowed the Meridian with frequency selective damping suspension and a 4x4 system with Jeep active drive and selec-terrain.
Jeep Meridian: Powertrain
The Meridian comes powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 170PS and 350Nm of torque. The motor is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox or nine-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission.
