Jaguar C-X75 will not make it to production
The drool-worthy Jaguar supercar shown at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year will not make it into production. The company's global brand director Adrian Hallmark has said that with the global austerity measures in place, this will be a wrong time to launch this almost Rs 9 crore car. Of the five prototypes that have been already made, three will be auctioned off while one will be kept as a running demo and the last will go to an upcoming Jaguar museum.
The C-X75 had a 4-cylinder 1.6-litre supercharged and turbocharged engine with twin electric motors channeling power to all the wheels. It was claimed to do the 0-100kmph run in just 2.8 seconds with an all-electric range of around 120kms. Williams F1 had designed the car's carbon fibre chassis. Jaguar though will be using some amount of the C-X75's tech like its powertrain and weight savings for its future cars.
