It is no secret that the Citroën C5 Aircross is going to be the French carmaker's first car for the Indian market. We were shown the car as a part of the brand's first tryst with the Indian media back in 2019 and since then the C5 Aircross has been spotted testing in India on countless occasions. We even had a chance to drive the Euro-spec car at the home of the French brand - so do check out our initial impressions to get an idea of what to expect.

We will, however, be able to give you a clearer idea on the India-spec Citroën C5 Aircross next month. We have just received official communication from the carmaker, stating that the model and its finer details will be revealed to us on February 1, 2021. We expect to get our hands on the production-spec C5 Aircross soon after for a detailed review.

The C5 Aircross is the largest crossover that Citroën makes at the moment and it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and even taken on the MH Hector facelift and the updated Jeep Compass. To that effect, we expect it to lie in Rs 16-22 lakh bracket. It is likely to arrive with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine developed for the Indian market, with manual and automatic options. Its claim to fame is the superior suspension setup and versatile seating.

The C5 Aircross will be launched in India by end of February 2021 is my estimate. The carmaker is also in the process of finishing work on its select dealerships which will begin operations in the metros.
