At the 2023 Auto Expo in January, the Ioniq 5 made its debut and has now achieved a significant milestone by selling 1,100 units within a year of entering the market. Priced at Rs 45.95 lakh (ex-showroom), this electric vehicle (EV) recently found its 1,100th buyer in none other than Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The actor, with a long-standing association spanning over 25 years with Hyundai, became the owner of this milestone with his new Ioniq 5.

This accomplishment follows the brand's earlier success in hitting the 500-unit sales mark in July. Notably, the vehicle garnered over 650 reservations within two months since its bookings commenced in December 2022. The Ioniq 5 stands among a select few premium electric vehicles assembled in the country, offering competitive pricing compared to its counterparts.

The Ioniq 5 is powered by a 72.6kWh battery coupled with a rear-axle mounted single motor producing 217PS and 350Nm of torque. Its standout feature is an ARAI-certified range of 631km on a full charge. With an 800V architecture, the vehicle can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a claimed 350kW DC charger. Even a 150kW DC fast charger takes only 21 minutes to reach 80 percent from zero, while a 50kW charger requires about an hour.
