Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has released a new teaser of its upcoming offering via its social media handles. Going by the teaser, it is safe to say that the brand will introduce an all-new sporty scooter with a 125cc engine, perhaps a TVS Ntorq rival. The latest teaser also offers a glimpse of its exhaust note. In fact, rumours have it that Honda may name the new scooter Dio 125. That said, the bike maker could launch the new product in the coming weeks.

Honda's upcoming new scooter: Engine

It is believed that Honda's upcoming new scooter will get a 125cc engine. It could borrow this motor from the Activa 125 and Grazia 125. Both scooters are powered by a 123.97cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine generating 8.29PS at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. The two-wheeler manufacturer could use the same unit in its upcoming offering.

Honda's upcoming new scooter: Design

The upcoming scooter is likely to feature a sporty and youthful styling with sharp cuts and creases on the body panels, along with bright dual-tone colours and graphics. As seen in the teaser, it will get a large and angular headlight with daytime running lights - both are expected to be LED units.

Honda's upcoming new scooter: Features

Being a modern-day sporty scooter, we expect Honda to equip it with a new Bluetooth-enabled fully digital console with turn-by-turn navigation, engine idle start/stop, ACG starter, headlight pass switch, engine side stand cut-off, a USB socket, and all-LED lighting. Since Honda's most sought-after Activa and the Dio 110 feature the H-Smart technology, the upcoming new scooter might well offer it as well.

Honda's upcoming new scooter: Prices and rivals

The prices of the closter rival to the Honda's upcoming scooter, the Ntorq, range between Rs 87,023 (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, we expect the Japanese bike maker to price the new scooter competitively. As a matter of fact, the prices of the Dio 110 start from Rs 71,502 (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 81,762 (ex-showroom), while the prices of the Activa 125 range between Rs 82,031 and Rs 91,222 (both ex-showroom).
