Honda Insight fourth-generation has been revealed as an all-electric crossover designed primarily for the Japanese market, marking a major change from the hybrid sedan that previously carried the badge.

The earlier third-generation Insight sedan went out of production in 2022, and the latest model represents a clear shift in direction for the nameplate.
In terms of styling, the new Insight adopts a coupe-like crossover silhouette. The front features a shark-nose design with a closed grille, typical of many modern EVs. Slim LED headlamps are connected by a full-width light bar, while vertical, boomerang-shaped daytime running lamps extend into the lower bumper. The front fascia also incorporates an illuminated Honda emblem, a large central air intake and a splitter-style lower section.
The profile shows a strong shoulder line and flush door handles that retract when not in use. The roofline slopes towards the rear and merges into a sharply angled C-pillar, giving the vehicle a sportier appearance. At the back, vertical tail lamps are linked by a light strip running across the boot lid. Large alloy wheels and a lower, wider stance further differentiate the Insight from conventional SUVs.
Inside, the cabin follows a clean and minimalistic design theme. The dashboard houses a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display along with a 9.4-inch digital instrument cluster. Most of the vehicle's functions are accessed through the central screen, although the heated steering wheel retains physical controls for commonly used features. Other highlights include a built-in fragrance system, a 12-speaker Bose audio system and a head-up display.
Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor that produces 310 Nm of torque. According to Honda, the Insight EV can travel more than 500 km on a single charge based on the WLTC testing cycle. The battery also supports bi-directional charging, allowing it to supply power externally if required.
Drivers can choose between Sport, Normal, Econ and Snow driving modes, while regenerative braking intensity can be adjusted using paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. The crossover also comes equipped with the Honda Sensing safety package, along with features such as hands-free parking, reclining rear seats and a flat walk-through floor design.
Honda has confirmed that sales of the new Insight EV will begin in Japan in the coming weeks, further expanding the brand's growing electric vehicle portfolio.
