Citroen has announced that all its vehicles in India, including the all-electric eC3, C3 Aircross, C3, and C5 Aircross, will come equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX points, and rear seatbelt reminder as standard across the variants starting from the second half of this year. In a big safety move, Hyundai has already made six airbags standard in all its cars, followed by Kia.

Having said that, the new standard equipment, including six airbags, rear seatbelt reminder, and ISOFIX points, is likely to result in price increment for the Citroen cars. Currently, the eC3 is priced between Rs 11.61 lakh and Rs 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the C3 prices range between Rs 6.16 lakh and Rs 9.08 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of the C3 Aircross start from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 13.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Further, the Citroen's flagship C5 Aircross comes with a price tag of Rs 37.67 lakh (ex-showroom). As a ballpark figure, we expect the price hike amount to range around Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000, depending on the model.

In other news, Citroen recently introduced a new top-spec Shine variant in the eC3 line-up, bringing in a new Cosmo Blue paint job and several additional features, such as powered ORVMs, a rear parking camera, and 15-inch alloy wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
