Citroen has launched the Citroen C3 Aircross for the European market and just like its hatchback sibling, the European version looks lot more appealing than the car we get in India. The new C3 Aircross, which offers compact SUV utility and accommodation for up to seven people, has the brand's newest interior and external style, as well as an upgraded choice of petrol, hybrid, and completely electric powertrains.

European Citroen C3 Aircross: Design

Citroen's new C3 Aircross has a distinct selling edge in Europe's compact SUV market since it can fit seven passengers into its 4,390mm length. It eliminates curves in favour of creases, adopting the boxy design language previously seen on the smaller C3 hatch that shares its redesigned 'Smart' CMP platform, and Citroen's controversial new corporate emblem is prominently displayed on a grille patterned after the brand's double-chevron insignia.

The LED headlights are carried over from the C3 hatchback, and they sit atop a rather substantial bumper. However, it is not only visually more aggressive but also physically larger. It features larger tracks and wings than the previous model, and the body has been extended to 4.39 meters from tip to tail.

European Citroen C3 Aircross: Powertrain

Specific engine specifics have not yet been published, however it is anticipated to employ the same engines as the C3 hatchback. The entry-level vehicle would be powered by a 99bhp 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The hybrid car will produce 136PS with the help of a 48V battery with a dual-clutch gearbox.

The electric Citroen e-C3 Aircross completes the lineup. We expect that the 44kWh battery and 114PS electric motor from the e-C3 hatchback will be used, along with the same 100kW DC rapid-charging capacity. In the e-C3, the arrangement can give up to 320 kilometres of range, so the C3 Aircross should be able to attain a comparable amount.

European Citroen C3 Aircross: Interior

While we don't have official inside photos yet, it's reasonable to assume that the C3 hatchback's cabin will be carried over to the Aircross, replete with a 10.25-inch touchscreen screen and a head-up display for driving information.

The Citroen C3 Aircross in India is available in You, Plus, and Max variants. Prices start from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
