As part of the plan, Bosch will shift its manufacturing work from Adugodi to a larger Bidadi facility, a town in Ramanagara district located 32km away from Bangalore, on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway.Bosch has acquired 97 acres of land in Bidadi for the construction of this new facility and Rs 250 crore will be spent for the initial development of the facility.

The new facility will house the production of several components of diesel fuel injection systems. The shift will lead to relocation of around 850 employees from the Adugodi facility, which in future will be used for R&D activities.

The ground breaking ceremony at the new Bidadi plant was conducted last week, with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah being the guest of honour.

Bosch India Managing Director Steffen Berns said, "The developing industrial area in Bidadi will offer larger space and better infrastructure support for our future expansion.
