Auto Expo 2012 - Audi unveils the Q3

Audi launched the Q3 at the Auto Expo 2012 today with Mr. Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the board of management of Audi for marketing and sales along with Michael Perschke, head, Audi India. Adding glamour to the already red hot Q3 on display, were Katrina Kaif & Lisa Ray. Also showcased was the A3 e-tron, which encapsulates Audi's expertise in hybrid electric propulsion and drive train technology, the Audi A6 and the Audi Q7 V12.

"India is a key strategic market for Audi and we are making a clear long-term statement in the country with ambitious expansion plans. Audi has seen phenomenal growth since its inception in India five years ago and today is the fastest expanding premium brand in the market. Now we are starting the next chapter of our success story: As a true premium SUV, the Audi Q3 leads the way for the Four Rings to enter a new segment in India, with ever increasing customer groups demanding for premium mobility in a compact form.", said Mr. Peter Schwarzenbauer,.

The compact Audi Q3 is expected to take on BMW's X1, in both price and performance. This should prove quite interesting in the Audi vs BMW war as round one went to the BMW X3, which in our comparo bested the Audi Q5, which we found a little long in the tooth.

But the Q3 definitely seems to have the beans to take on the Bimmer. Watch this space for more.
