Audi showcased the new A6 at the 2016 Auto Expo. All set to rival the likes of the BMW 3-series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Jaguar XE, the new generation Audi A6 gets a host of updates. Built as an all-new car, the A6 gets the company's latest design language that can be seen with the sharper looking headlights with LEDs. Similar to the new Q7, the A4 also gets a more prominent hexagonal grille giving it a familiar design. The side profile continues the understated theme with minimal lines. The important update on the rear has to be new design of the lights with LEDs. Audi also states that the new design makes the new-gen offering the most aerodynamic A4 to be built ever.

Dimensionally, the new A4 measures 25 mm longer, 16 mm wider and 12 mm higher than the last gen model.

At the time of its launch, the new A4 will debut with a 1.4-litre TFSI motor that makes 150PS and 250Nm. This motor is mated to an 8-speed S-tronic transmission. Audi is claims a fuel efficiency of 17.84kmpl, which is 2.2kmpl more than the outgoing version. We have already experienced this motor and found that the motor puts out an impressive performance. The motor is bst suited for city traffic and not for the highways. Read our detailed first drive report here. While Audi has not confirmed it officially yet, the 2.0-litre will be joining the line-up at a later part of the year. This diesel engine will churn 174PS and 380Nm of torque and will be mated to the same 8-speed gearbox.

Audi might price the A4 very aggressively against its staunch rival the Mercedes-Benz C-Class as well as the new BMW 320i. We expect the new A4 to come in two variants and will be priced between Rs 36-39 lakh.
