Bangalore-based Ather Energy is gearing up for the launch of its new 450 Apex performance-oriented electric scooter in India, scheduled for tomorrow. The company has teased that the 450 Apex will introduce a new Warp+ riding mode. Bookings for this e-scooter are already underway, with deliveries set to commence in March 2024.

New Ather 450 Apex: Performance and Range

The upcoming Ather 450 Apex is poised to introduce the new Warp+ riding mode, suggesting it could become the most powerful electric scooter in the Ather lineup, surpassing the capabilities of the 450X and 450S models. The current e-scooters offer modes like Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp. Anticipated to house a 3.7kWh battery pack similar to the 450X, the 450 Apex is expected to feature a more potent electric motor, potentially exceeding the 6.4kW power output of the 450X. This enhancement may result in quicker 0-40kmph acceleration compared to the 3.3 seconds achieved by the 450X. The 450 Apex might also boast a higher top speed of 100kmph, surpassing the 90kmph mark set by its sibling. However, this heightened performance orientation might impact its range. For instance, while the 450X has a certified range of 150km, its actual range is around 110km.

New Ather 450 Apex: Features and Specifications

While the design of the forthcoming 450 Apex is expected to remain largely similar to the 450X, Ather may introduce new colour options for added visual appeal. The scooter is anticipated to include existing 450X features and potentially add new ones, such as advanced regenerative braking, cruise control, and crawl control. Additionally, it is likely to retain features like an auto-hold function, over-the-air updates, Ather connect services, and a single disc setup at both ends.

New Ather 450 Apex: Pricing

The forthcoming 450 Apex is projected to come with a higher price tag, estimated to be around Rs 15,000-25,000 more than the 450X. Currently, the 450X models with 3.7kWh and 2.9kWh battery packs are priced at Rs 1,44,921 and Rs 1,37,999 respectively (both ex-showroom, Bangalore), while the 450S is priced at Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom).
