Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the all-new GLC today, 9 August, 2023. The German automaker has already started bookings for its best-selling SUV for a token amount of Rs 1.50 lakh. The new generation GLC can be had in either the GLC 300 4Matic or GLC 220d 4Matic variant.

New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Engine, power outputs, and mileage

The India-spec GLC 300 gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor generating 258PS at 5,800rpm and 400Nm between 2,000rpm and 3,000rpm. This unit returns a fuel economy of 14.72kmpl. Whereas, the GLC 220d comes powered by a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that produces 197PS at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque between 1,800rpm and 2,800rpm. This motor gives out a mileage of 19.47kmpl. Notably, both units now get mild hybrid functionality, which provides a brief power boost of 23PS and 200Nm. Mercedes offers its 9G Tronic automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive as standard across the board.

New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Colours and dimensions

The new GLC is available in a choice of five shades, namely Polar White, Obsidian Black, Nautic Blue, Selenite Grey, and Mojave Silver. Further, it is 4,716mm long, 2,075mm wide, and 1,640mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,888mm. In addition, the front and rear tracks are wider by 6mm and 23mm, respectively.

New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Interior and features

Mercedes-Benz has given the new-gen GLC an all-new MBUX setup, comprising a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch central information hub with biometric authentication.

It also boasts a raft of features, such as a wireless charging pad, LED headlights, 360deg camera, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone temperature control, a Burmester surround system, and 64 colours ambient lighting, among others. Also on offer is a new off-road mode with a 'transparent bonnet' function and enhanced ADAS.

New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Prices and rivals

We believe the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC to attract a higher premium with the new prices expected to range between Rs 65 lakh and 70 lakh. For reference, its predecessor was available in two variants: 200 Progressive at Rs 62 lakh and 220d 4Matic Progressive at Rs 68 lakh (both ex-showroom). Once launched, the new generation Mercedes-Benz GLC will take on the Audi Q3, BMW X3, and Volvo XC40 in India.
