2023 Yamaha R3 and MT-03 launched; priced at Rs 4.65 lakh and Rs 4.60 lakh
Yamaha Motor India, today, launched the long-due 2023 YZF-R3 and MT-03 in India at Rs 4.65 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both motorcycles have arrived in the country as a completely Built Unit (CBU).
2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03: Colours and Specifications
Yamaha offers the R3 with two paint schemes, namely Icon Blue and Yamaha Black along with Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black for the MT-03. The Japanese bike maker recently updated the R3 for MY2023, giving it a new shade of purple, which has not made its way to the country.
Further, the R3 and MT-03 come equipped with KYB USD front forks, a rear monoshock, a 298mm front disc brake, a 220mm rear disc brake, dual-channel ABS, an all-digital LCD console, and all-LED lighting, among others.
2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03: Engine, power outputs, and gearbox
Powering the R3 and MT-03 is a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 42PS at 10,750rpm. However, while the supersport makes 29.5Nm of torque at 9,000rpm, the streetfighter delivers 29.6Nm. They both come mated to a six-speed gearbox.
2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03: Rivals
While the YZF-R3 competes against the new Aprilia RS 457 (Rs 4.10 lakh), KTM RC 390 (Rs 3.19 lakh), and Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Rs 5.24 lakh), whereas the MT-03 takes on the likes of the 2024 KTM 390 Duke (Rs 3.11 lakh), BMW G 310 R (Rs 2.90 lakh), and TVS Apache RTR 310 (Rs 2.43-2.64 lakh).
