Yamaha EC-06 Launched at Rs 1.68 lakh
Yamaha EC-06 has been launched at Rs 1,67,600 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the EC-06 costs Rs 21,601 more than the River Indie electric scooter on which it is based.

- Uses a 4.0 kWh battery pack pushing 9 PS and 26 Nm
- Top speed 79 kmph
- 169 km of range
The Yamaha EC-06 uses a 4.0-kWh lithium-ion battery paired with an IPMS motor that produces 9 PS of peak power and 26 Nm of torque. The scooter claims a top speed of 79 kmph and an IDC-certified range of 169 km. Charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes around 8 hours using a standard charger. Riders can choose from three riding modes Eco, Standard and Power.
The EC-06 rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by 200mm disc brakes at both ends, supported by a combined braking system (CBS). And it weighs 132kg.
Yamaha has also focused on durability, with the EC-06 featuring an IP67-rated motor and battery, and IP65-rated electronics, making it suitable for Indian riding conditions.

Feature-wise, the scooter comes with a colour LCD instrument cluster, keyless ignition and Yamaha Motor Connect R smartphone connectivity. Through the app, riders can check vehicle data, ride statistics and alerts. However, features like turn-by-turn navigation are not offered. Visually, the Yamaha EC-06 gets vertically stacked dual-pod LED headlamp. The rear section is slimmer and compact.
In terms of storage, the Yamaha EC-06 gets a 24.5-litre underseat compartment, which is adequate for daily use but clearly not aimed at heavy luggage needs. Yamaha has prioritised a sleek design over maximum storage.
