Yamaha FZ-X launched at Rs 1.17 lakh
Yamaha has launched the new FZ-X in India at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Yamaha is also offering Bluetooth connectivity with this motorcycle at the additional cost of Rs 3000.
As its name indicates, the new FZ-X shares some components with its 150cc FZ brethren. The air-cooled 149cc single-pot motor, with its peak power of 12.4PS @ 7,250rpm and peak torque of 13.3NM @5,500rpm is carried over from the current FZ series bikes, along with the single downtube frame that's suspended by a telescopic fork at the front and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear.
What's unique to this FZ-X however, are the block-pattern treads, the fork gaiters, the bash plate and the retro-minimalistic looking grabrail at the back collectively add a touch of ruggedness to the motorcycle and should equate to a decent generation of attention when on the road. Then there's the new styling which includes a new LED headlight unit with LED DRL, the new boxy-shape tank that bodes nicely with the new broad and flat stepped seat. The 139kg X gets a new negative LCD console with power socket sits atop the handlebar, which itself, sits higher than on the FZ, and this now coupled with the forward set pegs, will enforce a more upright riding position – this should come as good news to those looking to do some touring astride the X.
The FZ-X gets a five-speed gearbox and single channel ABS. The Bluetooth enabled version of the motorcycle is compatible with Yamaha's dedicated Y-Connect app which allows riders to keep tabs on their bike's maintenance records and various other vehicle running data on their smartphone.
At this launch price, the new X approximately Rs 11,000 more than the standard Yamaha FZ. The FZ-X will be available in three colours – Metallic Blue, Matt Copper and Matte Black.
