Volvo XC40 Recharge launched in India, priced at Rs 55.90 lakh
The Volvo XC40 Recharge, Volvo's first electric vehicle in India is now finally available at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The all-electric car costs Rs 11.40 lakh more than the XC40 with a petrol engine.
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge's exterior features include vertically stacked LED tail lights, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black cladding on the front and rear bumpers, and LED headlights. The model distinguishes itself from its ICE sister by adding "Recharge" badging to the back and a blacked-out grille that is painted in the same colour as the body.
Volvo XC40 Recharge: PowertrainThe XC40 Recharge is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle for a combined 408PS and 660 Nm output. This is fed by a 78kWh battery placed under the floor of the SUV. The XC40 Recharge can cover 400 km in a full charge. The battery charges to 80 % of its capacity in 40 mins on a fast-charger system.
Volvo XC40 Recharge: Interior and Safety
A vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, dual-zone climate control, and a 13-speaker Harman Kardon music system will are all included inside the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
A panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a complete complement of sensor-based ADAS technology with Level 2 Autonomous driving, linked vehicle technology, and powered front seats with driver-side memory, are also onboard.
Volvo provides an eight-year warranty on the batteries in addition to a three-year warranty on the vehicle. One 11kW wall-box charger is included with the XC40 Recharge from Volvo.
Local production of the Volvo XC40 Recharge also gives the car a distinct edge in pricing over current competitors like the Kia EV6 and the BMW i4.
