Tata Punch EV to get the 10.25-inch infotainment system?

The forthcoming Tata Punch EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads. The Punch EV is set to make its debut later this year. In addition to a new electric engine, the vehicle is slated to have a revamped front in comparison to the existing ICE-powered Punch.

Tata Punch EV: Interiors

The Tata Punch EV test mule has a huge freestanding display on the centre console, as shown in the image above. This device is most likely a 10.25-inch screen, which debuted on the Nexon EV line earlier this year. Other interior changes include an electronic parking brake, a redesigned rotary dial that serves as the gear selector, and an armrest for front-row passengers. The redesigned two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo might also be available.

Tata Punch EV: Design

As seen in the spy photos, the heavily camouflaged Punch EV features a resigned fascia - dissimilar to the ICE Punch - with what appears to be new headlamps, new daytime running lights, and a new bumper with vertical slats. It is also likely to come with a redesigned partly closed-off grille and a light bar running across its width.

In addition, the headlights could be bi-directional LED units similar to the 2023 Nexon and Nexon EV facelifts. Tata may also give it a reworked rear bumper and taillamps, along with a new set of alloy wheels.

Tata Punch EV: Powertrain

Tata Motors has not disclosed the battery pack parameters for the Tata Punch EV 2023. It might be offered in two trim levels, Medium Range and Long Range, similar to its brother, the Tiago EV.

The Tiago EV uses the firm's Ziptron high-voltage electric architecture in a larger 24 kWh capacity to return an MIDC-certified range of 314 km. A smaller 19.2 kWh liquid-cooled battery returns 250 km of range. The larger pack returns 75PS and 114 Nm, the smaller one makes 61PS and 104 Nm.

Tata Punch EV: Pricing

While the petrol and CNG-powered Punch is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.10 lakh (both ex-showroom), the prices of the electric version are projected to start from Rs 8.50 lakh - Rs 9 lakh and go up Rs 13 lakh - Rs 13.50 lakh.
