Suzuki Gixxer with disc brake launched in India at Rs 79,726 ex-Delhi
The Suzuki Gixxer range has got an important update in the form of a rear disc brake. The company has also introduced new two-tone body graphics on both, the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. The price of the updated Gixxer is Rs 79,726 (ex-Delhi) while that of the fully faired Gixxer SF is Rs 87,343 (ex-Delhi). The MotoGP themed bike can be availed for Rs 88,857.
Suzuki claims that the new addition will provide better stability and control on all kinds of terrain. There are, however, no mechanical changes. Both the Suzuki Gixxer and the Gixxer SF is powered by a 154.9cc motor that makes 14.8PS at 8,000rpm and generates 14Nm at 6,000rpm. This motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. During our road test, the smooth and unstressed motor of the Suzuki Gixxer impressed us with its meaty mid range performance. Even when compared with the Bajaj Discover F150, Yamaha FZ Fi and the Hero Xtreme, the Suzuki Gixxer came out as a clear winner.
Suzuki India launched the updated motorcycles on the occasion of 'Gixxer Day' which saw international freestyle rider Aras Gibieza perform at North Campus, Delhi.
