Spec comparison: Honda Shine 100 vs Hero HF Deluxe vs Bajaj Platina 100

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently introduced the all-new Shine 100 in India. The brand also started its production at its Narasapur facility in Karnataka today on 3 May, 2023. Honda's new offering arrives in the 100c segment that is dominated by the likes of the Hero HF Deluxe and Bajaj Platina 100. And here we stack up the Shine 100 with its primary rivals.

The Shine 100 gets a new OBD2-compliant 98.98cc single-cylinder engine that produces 7.38PS, while Platina 100 makes 7.9PS. Its primary rival, the HF Deluxe, emerges as the most powerful motorcycle among the three rivals, as it generates 8.02PS. Torque figures of the HF Deluxe and Shine 100 are identical at 8.05Nm, while the Platina 100 delivers 8.03Nm. All three motorcycles comes with a four-speed gearbox.

Honda Shine 100 vs Hero HF Deluxe vs Bajaj Platina 100: Specifications

The Shine 100 is lightest among its rivals as it weighs 99kg, while the HF Deluxe and Platina 100 weigh 112kg and 117kg, respectively. The Platina 100 is the heaviest motorcycle here. However, it has the ground clearance of 200mm, whereas the Shine 100 and HF Deluxe have similar ground clearance.

Further, the Platina 100 also offers a 11-litre fuel tank, while the Shine 100 and HF Deluxe come with a 9-litre and 9.6-litre tanks, respectively. The Shine 100 is accessible for short riders as it has a seat height of 786mm. Whereas, the Platina 100 has an 807mm seat height, while the HF Deluxe has a seat height of 805mm.

The HF Deluxe comes with the i3s engine start/stop feature, while the Platina 100 gets an LED daytime driving light. All three bikes are available with self-start system and a side-stand engine auto cut-off features.

Honda has competitively priced the Shine 100 at Rs 64,900 (introductory, ex-showroom). However, the prices of the HF Deluxe start at Rs 60,760 and go up to Rs 67,208 (both ex-showroom). Bajaj offers the Platina 100 at Rs 65,856 (ex-showroom).
