Renault Triber secures 4-star safety rating in Global NCAP
Renault Triber was launched in August 2019 and has been a unique proposition in the Indian car market since, offering MPV practicality to first-time car buyers with its affordable pricing. The base variant of the Triber has been tested by Global NCAP for this saefty test. The body shell of the Triber is rated unstable as it may not withstand any further loadings. The chest protection for the driver was found marginal and adequate for the passenger. The protection offered to driver and passenger heads and necks was found to be good.
The base RXE variant of the Triber provides basic safety features like dual airbags, four-channel ABS, Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) for both driver and co-driver and a seat belt pretensioner for the driver. The footwell area was rated stable with marginal protection offered to the driver's knees and good protection for the co-driver's knees. The base variant of the Triber doesn't offer ISOFIX anchorages but still managed to secure a three-star rating for child occupants.
Renault Triber offers great space and comfort under the sub-four-metre category. The pricing has played a key role in the Triber's popularity and the MPV is cheaper than some new hatchbacks. The ultra modular seats of the Triber offer great versatility and the last bench can be detached to offer 625L of boot space. Powering the Renault Triber is a 1.0-litre Energy series petrol engine that produces 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. Buyers can spec the Triber with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Renault is expected to offer a turbo petrol engine with the Triber soon that will be shared with the Kiger. Renault Triber is priced from Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 7.82 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi.
