Renault will be launching the Captur SUV in India in the coming weeks. The Renault Captur SUV will be positioned above the Renault Duster in the country wherein it will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and the Hyundai Creta. Renault dealerships across the country will start accepting bookings for the Captur SUV for a token amount of Rs 25,000. We believe the deliveries of the Renault Captur should start sometime next month. Here are the five things that you should know about the Renault Captur SUV.
The Captur gets full LED headlamps with DRLs. The interior might get a choice between two-tone look or an all-black theme like the Russian model. A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation might be on offer as well. The Captur measures 18mm longer than the Duster and will be offered in a 5-seater configuration. The rear bench can be folded down in 60/40 ratio, which will expand the 387-litre boot to 1,200 litres. At 204mm of ground clearance, the Captur will have no problem maneuvering over bad sections. The design of the Renault Captur will be one of its strongest highlights.

Powertrain
The Renault Captur SUV will arrive in India in both petrol and diesel engines. The diesel model will use the 1.5-litre dCI unit that already does duty in the Duster SUV that puts out 110PS and 240Nm. This motor is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol Renault Captur will use a new 1.5-litre unit that produced 106PS/142Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Competition
The success of the Renault Captur SUV in India depends a lot on its pricing. In addition to the SUVs mentioned above, the Renault Captur will also likely lock horns with the Jeep Compass, the base variant. Whereas the lower variants of the Renault Captur will battle it out with the newly launched Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and others.
DeliveriesRenault dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the premium SUV. While the company officials have not conveyed any official date of the same, we believe the Renault Captur will hit dealerships in India in middle of November this year.
