Nissan Magnite garners over 65,000 bookings, drives 261 percent sales jump

The Nissan Magnite has been especially successful for Nissan India with the Japanese carmaker registering over 65,000 bookings since the compact SUV went on sale. Nissan registered domestic wholesales of 2,816 units in September 2021, a 261 per cent jump from the 780 vehicles sold for the same period last year. The turnaround has been more significant over the first half of FY2021, with 18,591 units sold to dealers bringing a 459 per cent growth year-on-year.

Nissan Magnite production

The Magnite has also driven up export numbers for Nissan with the SUV being shipped to countries like Indonesia, South Africa and Nepal. Exports accounted for 5900 units, an exponential increase from 211 vehicles last year. Like most other carmakers, Nissan has seen strong interest from customers as the rush of bookings suggest but is hampered by the ongoing semi-conductor crisis. This has hampered production but the company says it is working with suppliers to minimize delays.
