New Citroen C3 Aircross India unveil on 27 Apr; What to expect?
Citroen is all geared up for the unveiling of its all-new made-in-India C3 Aircross SUV in India on 27 April, 2023. It has been locally developed and built in the country. Notably, this three-row SUV from the French carmaker will enter one of the most sought-after vehicle segments, the compact SUV segment, in India.
New Citroen C3 Aircross: Engine and Transmission
Powering the new C3 Aircross three-row SUV is expected to be a 1.2-litre three-cylinder, turbocharged PureTech petrol engine that produces 110PS and 190Nm of torque. It is the same unit that Citroen offers with the C3 hatchback. While it comes mated to the six-speed manual gearbox in the C3, the brand may provide a new automatic transmission, for reference, the EAT6 or EAT8 (Efficient Automatic Transmission) six or eight-speed automatic transmission available in some of its global models. Having said that, it would be surprising if the C3 Aircross gets the more powerful PureTech 130 powertrain.
New Citroen C3 Aircross: Design
Earlier last week, we caught the first glimpse of the new C3 Aircross in the form of a teaser picture. Going by the first teaser, the C3 Aircross will feature a familiar design language with Citroen's signature styling cues. The face will come with split headlights and daytime running lights reminiscent of the C3 hatchback. Other exterior highlights are likely to include body cladding across the lower panels, alloy wheels, and square-shaped taillights. Citreon is also expected to offer a wide range of mono-tone and dual-tone paint options with the SUV.
New Citroen C3 Aircross: Interior
The highlight of the upcoming C3 Aircross will be its three-row seating configuration, albeit, Citroen has not confirmed whether it will be a seven or six-seater. In addition, the dashboard could feature the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as the C3 hatchback, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a semi- or fully-digital instrument cluster, a multifunctional steering wheel, ventilated front seats, an engine start/stop switch, and electric sunroof, among others.
New Citroen C3 Aircross: Pricing and rivals
The prices of the C3 Aircross compact SUV could range from Rs 9 lakh and go up to Rs 16 lakh. We expect Citroen to open bookings for the SUV at the unveiling and also announce a launch date. Upon launch, it will take on the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor. Being a three-row SUV, it will also compete against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga/XL6 and Kia Carens.
