MG to showcase four new cars at 2023 Auto Expo

MG Motor India has set the stage to showcase four new cars, the all-electric MG 4, MG 6, and Hector facelift, along with the all-new small electric vehicle, likely to be the Air EV, at the forthcoming 2023 Auto Expo in New Delhi.

MG 4

MG 4 is an electric hatchback in the brand's international model lineup. It comes powered by two battery packs: 51kWh and 64kWh, with a range of 350km and 452km, respectively. The EV gets a single electric motor mounted at the rear axle that produces 170PS/250Nm with a small battery pack and 203PS/250Nm when paired with a larger battery pack. Meanwhile, it supports 150kW fast charging. Further, MG 4 measures 4,287mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,705mm. It is almost as long as the Hyundai Creta in terms of length but has a significantly longer wheelbase than the SUV.

MG 6

The MG 6 is a mid-size sedan and shares the same platform with its siblings from another SAIC brand, Roewe. Internationally, it is offered with a choice of petrol and hybrid powertrain options. MG revealed a sportier model, called MG 6 Pro, in mid-2021. It features aggressive design elements, cuts and creases, and a boot-mounted spoiler. Powering this MG 6 Pro is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine making 180PS and 285Nm of torque.

MG Air EV

The MG Air EV is likely to make its debut at the Auto Expo. It is believed that the EV is based on the Wuling Air EV, which is offered with a standard range and long-range battery packs in some international markets. The Wuling Air EV has a claimed range of up to 200km and 300km, depending on the battery pack.

Hector facelift

The Hector facelift is expected to be the attraction at the MG stall at the Auto Expo. The brand has already teased the updated SUV several times, revealing its redesigned grille and new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Moreover, the upcoming Hector facelift is likely to come with additional features, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Regarding the engine, MG could offer the same petrol and diesel engine options in the market as the on-sale model. Notably, the Hector Plus facelift could also be showcased at the expo.
