Maruti Suzuki India sells 38 lakh units of Alto hatchback in the past 19 years

Maruti Suzuki Alto has been around for almost two decades now and Maruti Suzuki has managed to sell over 38 lakh units of the hatchback since the year 2000. The alto breached the 10 lakh sales mark within eight years back in 2008. The Alto K10 was introduced in the year 2010 and the product hit a new sales milestone in 2012 of 20 lakh units. The 30 lakh sales mark was achieved three years ago in 2016. Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki launched the BSVI compliant Alto in India. The Alto is currently priced between Rs 2.98-4.19 lakh ex-showroom.

The Alto is available with a choice of petrol and an optional CNG. The Alto K10, on the other hand, gets a choice of an optional automatic. The K10 retails between R 3.70-4.49 lakh ex-showroom. The standard equipment on offer are driver airbag, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensor, speed alert system and seat belt reminder for front two occupants. Alto also complies with the latest crash and pedestrian safety regulation.
