Mahindra's feature-rich Centuro to follow the Pantero

Mahindra also showcased another motorcycle along with the Pantero, the Centuro. The Centuro uses the same engine as the Pantero, but comes loaded to the gills with features, many of which are a first for the 110cc commuter segment. The Centuro gets a remote lock with a flip key, just like four wheelers. Mahindra claim the remote lock will allow users to locate their motorcycle even in crowded parking lots, and it also gets follow-me home lamps, with the LED pilot lights staying on for 7-10 seconds even after the motorcycle has been locked. The remote lock also gets a tiny LED torch. Mahindra claim duplication is impossible, as a mechanical duplicate of the key may allow one to unlock the handlebar but the motorcycle cannot be started without the remote lock which uses a 96-bit secure access.

The styling of the Centuro is completely different from the Pantero as well, and the Centuro gets a much larger bikini fairing upfront, along with different body panels. The Centuro's dash is different from the Pantero, and it uses a large analog tachometer that sits in the centre, flanked by two smaller digital displays on both sides. The Centuro gets a 'distance to empty' read-out, a first in the segment along with a service reminder, economy mode indicator, digital clock, trip, odometer and usual tell-tale lights. We did not get a chance to ride the Centuro, but we believe the motorcycle should feel similar to the Pantero since it is mechanically identical.
