Mahindra complete 9 lakh Scorpio sales since 2002

Mahindra & Mahindra today announced that the Mahindra Scorpio has achieved 900,000 units in production. The popular sport utility vehicle (SUV) was first introduced in India in 2002, more than two decades ago.

The Scorpio has quickly become a favourite among SUV aficionados throughout the country. From the original Scorpio through the all-new Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic, its class-leading traits, features, and capabilities have remained consistent for generations.

The Scorpio is now available in two variants: Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic. The Scorpio-N is priced between Rs 13.05 lakh and Rs 24.51 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Scorpio Classic is priced between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16.81 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scorpio-N, which will be available in June 2022, received 1 lakh reservations in less than 30 minutes.

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk CRDi diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine. The petrol engine produces 203PS and 370 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission and 380 Nm with an automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 175PS and 370 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission and 175PS and 400Nm with a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is also a less powerful diesel variant that produces 132PS and 300Nm. The Scorpio-N diesel is also available with 4WD.

The Mahindra Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk CRDi diesel engine with 132PS and 300Nm. The engine is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no 4WD available.
