Mahindra Balero Neo+ Ambulance launched in India at Rs 14 lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched the new Bolero Neo+ Ambulance in India at Rs 13.99 lakh or Rs 12.31 lakh via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), which is a national procurement online portal, introduced in 2016 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is based on Balero Neo that was launched in 2021. However, the ambulance version features a longer wheelbase, resulting in a roomier cabin. Meanwhile, the Balero Neo+ Ambulance meets the AIS:125 (Part 1) regulations applicable for the Type-B Ambulance category.

Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Highlights

The Bolero Neo+ Ambulance is uses the body-on-frame platform with Gen-3 chassis, featuring high-strength steel. Although it has a longer wheelbase, the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance remains a compact and drivable vehicle for easy navigation in city traffic and its high ground clearance makes it suitable for rough terrains, says Mahindra. As claimed, the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance tops the capabilities of small van-based vehicles and provides better functionality and efficiency than large coach-based ambulances.

With compliance to AIS:125 (Part 1) norms, the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance gets a single-person operable stretcher system, arrangement for an oxygen cylinder, a washbasin assembly, and a public address system for communication during emergencies. It can accommodate up to five passengers, inclduing the driver within its air-conditioned cabin.

Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Powertrain

Mahindra has equipped the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance with a more powerful 2.2-litre, inline -four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel mHawk engine, producing 120PS and 280Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a rear-wheel-drive setup.
