Limited run Abarth 600e 'Scorpionissima' edition unveiled

We have our first look at the new Abarth 600e, an EV from the iconic Italian brand. What you see here is the special edition 'Scorpionissima' launch model that will be limited to just 1,949 units. This is Abarth's high-performance version of the new electric Fiat 600e, which was unveiled last year.

Despite its output of 240PS (only the Scorpionissima version), the 600e is Abarth's most powerful model ever. Sticking with the hot hatch motif, it has a mechanical limited-slip differential to improve traction. To that end, Abarth is pleased to announce that the 600e's tyres were designed in collaboration with Hankook, the Formula E racing series' tyre supplier.

Enhancements include bigger tyres on 20-inch wheels and a stronger braking system. In true Abarth form, there's a giant 'Abarth' decal right over the side sills and a neon-green scorpion emblem on the front fender.

The Scorpionissima launch edition shown here comes finished in an eye-catching and exclusive Hypnotic Purple paint inspired by the post-puncture hypnotic effect, highlighting its aggressive nature, while the aerodynamic rear spoiler is designed to maximize performance.

Assuming it has the same battery as the Fiat version, the 600e Abarth should have a 54-kWh lithium-ion battery, equivalent to around 400km of range under Europe's more optimistic WLTP test cycle.
