Kawasaki EV prototype showcased at Intermot

The world got a second glimpse of what Kawasaki EVs will look like in the near future, after the jolly green motorcycle-making giant showcased its electric prototype at Intermot this year. This was the same 'Z-series' styled EV prototype that made its debut earlier in August this year alongside a 'Ninja-based' hybrid electric prototype.

The Kawasaki Prototype has the typical Kawasaki Z-series styling, appearing to be heavily based on the Z400 that's sold in markets abroad with the prototype's headlight unit, the panels, tail section and even the suspension units looking to have been carried over from the latter. No hub-mounted motor to be seen here, just a mid-mounted unit with a chain drive. The chassis appears to have been tweaked with so as to accommodate the battery unit.

Kawasaki didn't divulge into many specifics of its EV prototype like the capacity of battery and range however new elsewhere online suggests that the bike could make close to 15PS, which would imply that it could have the modern-day performance equivalent of a 150-160cc motorcycle.

Kawasaki previously announced its intention to release at least 10 electric or hybrid electric motorcycles by the year 2025, while also continuing to explore other e-fuels and bio-fuel options. So we know that things are certainly going to get a whole lot greener with the green team. Watch this space for more updates.
