Karim Habib is the new design chief for BMW
The Chris Bangle days for BMW are now past the horizon and a new name has now crept in for the post of the design chief â€" Karim Habib. He will be assuming duties from June 1. Karim has been with BMW since 1988 and has been instrumental in styling the new BMW 7 Series amongst other cars. He has also held many illustrious positions in BMW like team leader for advanced design and also head of exterior design.
Senior vice president BMW group design Adrian van Hooydonk said, "Karim Habib is an outstanding designer who has had a significant impact on the design of the BMW brand over many years. His longstanding experience and subtle instinct for timely elegance and dynamics are the ideal prerequisites for this demanding task. I look forward very much to his support and collaboration."
