India-bound Hyundai AX1(Casper) micro-SUV interiors leaked

It's no secret that Hyundai has been testing a micro-SUV codenamed AX1 for emerging markets like India. The Hyundai AX1 is rumoured to be christened Casper and it will be launched in South Korea first. We have had multiple spy shots of the exteriors but newly emerged spy shots have given a glimpse of the interiors. The images reveal the bucket seats for rear passengers that seem strictly for two passengers, making the AX1 a four-seater car. The dashboard is covered with camouflage but a floating centre armrest can be seen in the images. The interiors are offered in the two-tone shade with beige seat covers.

Talking about the exteriors, Hyundai Casper will sport a compact and quirky design. It gets split headlights with LED units, body cladding and twin-pot LED taillights. The B-pillar is body-coloured and the rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar. The Hyundai AX1 spied in the images is running on 17-inch wheels that may not make their way to the Indian market.

Hyundai Casper is expected to come powered with a 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine carried over from the Santro. Hyundai could also offer the option of the 1.2-litre petrol engine, also seen on the Grand i10 Nios. But the presence of 17-inch wheels on the Korean test mule hints at the availability of a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Hyundai Casper will take on the likes of the upcoming Tata HBX and Mahindra KUV100. Expect the Hyundai AX1 to be priced between Rs 6 to 8 lakh.
