Image gallery: 2019 BMW 1 Series hatchback - India bound

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class rival is broke cover recently, and now the BMW 1 Series hatchback is out in official images. The BMW 1 Series, in its third generation, is based on a brand new platform that has helped the car grow wider - resulting in a roomier cabin. The hatchback is on offer with petrol and diesel engine options available in a variety of engine tunes and a choice of three different gearboxes. The BMW 1 Series hatchback could be reintroduced in India by the first quarter of 2020 and could be priced close to Rs 30 lakh mark (ex-showroom)

The styling has evolved and the lines are more aggressive

The silhouette is identical to the older hatchback although the styling elements set them apart

The alloy wheel sizes range from 16-inch to 19-inch

The headlamp and tail lamps are all LED units

The kidney grille has grown larger

The 1 Series sports a diffuser with two exhaust tips

Both petrol and diesel variant is on offer

The power output ranges from 120PS up to 310PS

The hatchback will be offered with three different transmissions. - six-speed manual, seven-speed-dual-clutch and an eight-speed automatic

The interiors have been updated too

The interiors have been redesigned and a 10.25 -inch all-digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen are the newest addition
