Hyundai unveils the RN22e and N Vision 74
At the Busan International Motor Show, Hyundai's N division unveiled the RN22e, which is simply a hotter version of the Ioniq 6Â and the N Vision 74 concept vehicle to showcase its vision for electrification. Both of these vehicles are "rolling labs," serving as testing grounds for all future electric vehicle models that Hyundai's N division would eventually put on the market.
The N Vision 74 is the most striking of the two, with a design that borrows cues from both the 1974 Pony Coupe concept initially created by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro, who also created the DMC DeLorean, and the 2025 Hyundai N Vision Gran Turismo.
We've established that the N Vision 74 is an electric vehicle, but behind its exterior lies an intriguing "hybrid" drivetrain. The car can charge from 0 to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes thanks to its 62.4 kWh battery pack with an 800-V design. Additionally, the vehicle contains a hydrogen fuel cell that weighs only 4.2 kg and can be refuelled in only 5 minutes.
The N Vision 74 can go more than 600 km when both the hydrogen tank and batteries are fully charged. The Hyundai N Vision 74 is a rear-wheel-drive vehicle since it has a twin-motor arrangement, each of which drives a separate rear wheel.
The electric supercar offers over 670PS and more than 900 Nm peak torque. The car has a stated top speed of 250 kmph, and it uses its two rear motors to offer torque vectoring, making it even more thrilling to drive through turns.
The Hyundai RN22e, the electric sports vehicle idea is unmistakably based on the Ioniq 6 of the manufacturer, which is supported by the e-GMP architecture. However, the RN22e features several visual upgrades, such as bigger fenders, a front splitter, and a sizable rear wing. A 77.4 kWh battery pack and two electric motors are included with the Hyundai RN22e. The Kia EV6 GT's electric engine has the same 585PS and 740 Nm output.
Along with the bigger engine and visual improvements, Hyundai is also testing new technology on the RN22e. This includes adjusting the car's handling using regenerative braking, employing N Sound+ to apply synthetic sound and vibrations to the chassis, and much more. The Hyundai RN22e has more powerful brakes, a dual-clutch that supports torque vectoring, and a limited-slip differential.
