Hyundai Creta EV spotted testing in Haryana

Hyundai has been working on developing the Creta EV which is expected to debut in 2025. The test mule was spotted last month testing on the outskirts of Chennai. The car has now been spotted testing in Haryana before it enters series production by the end of 2024.

Hyundai is expected to equip the electric SUV with distinct front and rear bumpers to differentiate itself from its ICE equivalent. The Creta EV test mule now has ICE-car bumpers, but the production-spec version will be heavily inspired by the previously seen Creta facelift test mule.

There is no charging port because this is a rudimentary test model. As a result, the engineers installed the charging wire by opening the hood. The production model will have a charging port, which will most likely be at the front.

The Hyundai Creta EV will be positioned below the Kona Electric and Ioniq 5.

If the Kona EV's powertrain is believed, it will have a 327V architecture, a 39.2 kWh battery, and a 135PS and 395 Nm electric motor. Hyundai says that the Kona EV has a range of 452 kilometres on a single charge. The power output and range characteristics of the Hyundai Creta Electric may be fairly comparable.

The Creta EV will most likely be powered by a localized and re-engineered version of the E-GMP design that has been modified for Indian road conditions. The Creta EV is expected to arrive next year or in early 2025.

On the inside we expect the Creta EV to be fully loaded with a powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, a large infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver's display, 6 airbags, ADAS features and much more.
