Frankfurt Auto Show 2013: Bentley Continental V8 S

Bentley has revealed the Continental V8 S at the Frankfurt. The 'S' version sits in between the entry level GT V8 and the bigger, badder GT V12.

Available in both coupe and convertible forms, the V8 S models feature an uprated version of Bentley's twin-turbo, 4.0-litre V8 engine that now develops 528 PS of max power and 680 Nm of max torque. An 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and Bentley all-wheel drive system direct the power to the wheels.

The GT V8 S coupe sprints from 0-100 kmph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 309 kmph. The performance of the GT V8 S convertible is equally impressive, clocking 0-100kmph in 4.7s with a top speed of 308kmph.

New signature 20-inch wheels are exclusive to the V8 S models, and feature an open-spoke design with red-painted brake calipers.

Available with a range of striking duo-tone interiors, customers can select interior trim from the full range of seventeen hide colours. The new GT V8 S coupe and convertible arrive in Bentley dealerships from early 2014.

"Our new V8 S models are an exciting addition to the Continental family. The increased power and torque combined with dynamically focused suspension sharpen the performance capabilities of our V8 grand tourers with no compromise to the luxury and quality that all Bentleys typify. These are cars with huge character and agility, enhanced even further by a distinctive V8 soundtrack," said Wolfgang Schreiber, Chairman, Bentley Motors.

Ride height gets reduced by 10mm keeping in mind the sports car with spring rates, bushes and the rear anti-roll bar getting stiffened. Recalibrated damping, steering and ESC improve ride quality. An aerodynamic front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and 'V8 S' fender badges complete the exterior package.
