Facelifted Tata Harrier and Safari fuel efficiency figures revealed
Tata Motors has begun taking reservations for the facelifted versions of its flagship SUV pair, the Harrier and Safari. Customers may reserve the SUVs for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000 at any Tata-authorized dealership. Their external and interior photographs have previously highlighted everything new on the two updated SUVs, while they have kept the same powertrain configuration. Tata has now also revealed the stated fuel economy ratings for the two refreshed SUVs.
The Harrier and Safari facelifts retain the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 170PS and 350 Nm. The engine is mated to one of two transmissions: a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
Previously, the Harrier SUV manual and automatic models returned fuel economy of 16.35 kmpl and 14.6 kmpl, respectively. Meanwhile, the upgraded Harrier has a fuel economy of 16.8kmpl for the manual and 14.6kmpl for the automatic models.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors claims that the revised Safari has a fuel economy of 16.30 kmpl for the manual and 14.50 kmpl for the automatic. This is an improvement over the previous model, which returned 16.14 kmpl in manual and 14.08 kmpl in automatic.
Tata Harrier and Safari Facelift: Features and Rivals
Tata has increased the number of amenities available on both SUVs. A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, dual-zone temperature control, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, and a gesture-controlled motorized tailgate are now standard on the 2023 Harrier and Safari. Their safety package includes up to seven airbags as well as a more sophisticated set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like as adaptive cruise control, ISOFIX child seat attachments, and a 360-degree camera.
The Harrier competes with the Jeep Compass, MG Hector and 5-seater variants of the Mahindra XUV700, while the Safari competes with the Hyundai Alcazar, 7-seater XUV700, and MG Hector Plus. These Harrier will also face competition from the mid-size SUV segment such as the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Setos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the latest offering, the Honda Elevate.
