EICMA 2012 - Husqvarna Concept Baja

Popular dirt bike maker Husqvarna showcased its Baja concept at the EICMA, drawing inspiration from the scramblers of the '60s and '70s, particularly from the Husqvarna Cross 400 that was famously ridden by Steve McQueen. Though a concept, the bike looks production ready, and is complete with a headlight and front and rear turn indicators. There are dual underseat exhausts adorning the rear, and the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel hint at the bike being ready for an occasional off-road session. In typical BMW Motorrad/Husqvarna fashion, the drive chain sits on the right hand side. The concept shown was powered by a liquid-cooled 650cc single cylinder engine mated to a five-speed gearbox. The chassis is based on a steel tube frame design, while braking is taken care of by Brembo units at both ends.
