BMW iX3 receives a number of styling revisions

A little over a year after its production-spec debut in 2020, the all-electric BMW iX3 has gotten an update. The iX3 will make its public premiere at the 2021 Munich Auto Show, with manufacturing set to begin by the end of September.

A bigger front grille with a new mesh pattern (which is still blanked off), smaller headlamp clusters, an increased lower air intake, reshaped air curtains, and a slightly revamped rear end with new light and bumper designs are all part of the revised iX3. The new iX3 also receives a sportier look than before, with BMW including the M Sport styling package as standard on the electric SUV.

The iX3 is distinguished from its combustion engine sibling, the X3 by blue trim pieces that allude to its electric core, as well as distinctive wheel styles. The cockpit gets blue accents on the gear selector, start-stop button, and 12.3-inch digital gauges, just like the new X3.

The 74kWh (net) battery still delivers up to 460km of WLTP range due to no technological modifications. It can be charged at up to 150kW, allowing for an 80 percent charge in just 34 minutes.

The iX3 accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 6.8 seconds and reaches a peak speed of 180 kmph thanks to its rear-mounted motor's 290PS and 400Nm of torque.

There is no word as to when the iX3 will debut in India, however, the X3 makeover is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year. Apart from the regular model, BMW has announced that the more performance-oriented X3 M40i would be launched in India, possibly with the facelift.
