Benelli 502C launched in India at Rs 4.98 lakh

Benelli has dipped its foot into cruiser waters and expanded its two-wheeler portfolio here in India with the introduction of the new 502C. The 502C is the first model listed under Benelli's 'Naked model range. Launched at Rs 4.98 Lakh, the 502C costs around Rs 29,000 more than the Benelli Leoncino 500 and Rs 13,000 more than the Benelli TRK 502 adventure motorcycles – bikes it shares the same engine with, and significantly cheaper than its closest rival the Kawasaki Vulcan S, priced at Rs 6.04 lakh.

Design-wise, the Benelli 502C cruiser undeniably looks to have drawn much of its brawny cues from the Ducati Diavel cruiser. The chunky front fork, wide handlebar, the exposed tube trellis frame, the smooth flowing tank shape, the floating seat, split tail-lights, the similarities are uncanny.

The Benelli 502C is powered by the same 500cc parallel-twin engine that powers the Leoncino 500 and the TRK 502 models. The liquid cooled, DOHC motor produces 47.5PS at 8,500rpm, 45Nm at 5,000rpm and comes is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Benelli 502C features an all-LED lights setup on both ends, an all-digital display, an adjustable clutch, a massive 21L fuel tank which would mean less stops at gas stations, and weighs in at 216kg.

The Benelli 502C features dual channel ABS, 4-piston calipers and twin semi-floating 280mm discs at the front, while the back incorporates a single piston, 240mm disc. The 502Cs suspension includes 135mm inverted fork up front and a rear swing arm with central shock absorber (spring preload adjustable), and runs on Pirelli Angel GT tyres.

The new Benelli 502C will be available in two colour options – matte black and matte red.
