2019 McLaren Senna GTR production model unveiled

A quick recap of the last year's Geneva Motor Show and you could remember McLaren showcasing the Senna GTR Concept. The Brit supercar brand has gone ahead and made a production version of it. And guess what? The 2019 McLaren Senna GTR still makes 825PS!

As seen form the images, McLaren hasn't deviated much from the concept. The Senna GTR comes with more track-oriented features like the large, fixed front and rear diffusers, new fenders, as well as racing slick tyres from Pirelli. With all these aids, the Senna GTR will not just be quick on the track, McLaren claims it will be the quickest car with the company's badges outside of Formula 1 cars.

The front profile of the Senna GTR might not be as flamboyant as that shown in the concept but McLaren seems to have compensated for that by making the rear a lot more aggressive than the concept. The huge wing paired with the giant diffuser produces 2205 pounds of peak downforce. No typo there!

Most importantly, the 2019 McLaren Senna GTR is powered by a 4L twin-turbo V8. This beast of a heart produces 825PS which is greater than the 789PS churned out by the standard Senna.

The McLaren Senna was designed from the outset to be an extreme track car, but the 2018 McLaren Senna GTR Concept suggested how much more further we could go and now, free from the constraints of road car legislation and motorsport competition rules, we have pushed the limits of what is technically possible to advance circuit driving capability to another level entirely," commented, Mike Flewitt, CEO, McLaren.

McLaren will begin assembling the GTRs at its Woking, UK plant this year. If you want one, get ready to shell out a cool $1.39 million (Rs 9.03 crore approximately). However, McLaren has already confirmed that it will produce a limited batch of 75 units of the Senna GTR after the standard Senna's production run of 500 units is completed.
