2019 Honda CBR650R launched in India at Rs 7.70 lakhs
Honda CBR650R supersport motorcycle has been launched in India for the ex-showroom price of Rs 7.70 lakh pan India. The new bike is dearer by Rs 30,000 to its customers and the bookings for the same had begun in the month of February. The CBR650R will be sold at 22 Wing World dealerships, also at the exclusive Honda BigWing dealership in Gurugram, India.
Showcased at the EICMA 2018, the Honda CBR650R gets a 649cc liquid cooled four-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine. The motor churns 84PS at 11,500rpm and generates 60Nm at 8,000rpm. Compared to its predecessor (the Honda CBR650F), the new bike has an increment of 5 per cent.
The 2019 Honda CBR650R comes equipped with a slipper clutch and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that maintains rear wheel traction and can be switched off whenever needed. The chassis design to has been updated that made the overall bike lighter by 6kg. It also comes with new, adjustable 41 mm Showa Separate Fork Function (SFF) USD forks that offer superior suspension response. Doing braking duties is the dual-channel ABS setup with dual radial-mount callipers on the front and a single-piston rear calliper.
While the outgoing Honda CBR 650F was considered to have an understated and simple design, the 2019 CBR 650R takes its styling cues from the more aggressive and sharper all-new Fireblade. This can be seen with the sharp lines running all over the side fairings and on the short rear section. It gets all-LED lighting with a narrow dual setup similar to that of the Fireblade. The CBR650R has two colour on offer - Red and Black. It also gets a digital LCD display, handlebars clip-on below the top yoke and the instruments feature a gear position and shift up indicator.
