2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 coupe launched in India at Rs 74.8 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has made a new addition in their AMG range in India which consists of sedans, SUVs and now coupes. The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 is the second SUV coupe offering after the GLE 43 Coupe. Priced at Rs 74.8 lakh, ex-showroom India, this one too will be brought to the country through the CBU route.

The front profile of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC coupe looks identical to the regular SUV. However, this one sports diamond radiator grille with chrome inserts and pins. In addition, there are the sporty air intakes in the AMG front apron with fins in silver chrome. Then there are the front splitters that Merc claims to offer an optimal flow of air to the cooling modules. Making it more distinct that the regular SUV, the coupe gets a more slanted A-pillar. The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC Coupe runs on 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels with 235/55 R 19 front and 255/50 R 19 rear tyres. There is also an option of 21-inch wheels in a bichromatic design that one can get at the dealerships. The rear profile does bear resemblance to the GLE Coupe's styling. It features chrome-plated tailpipe. The sleek taillights with the AMG-specific rear apron is also similar to what we have seen on the S-Class coupe.

The interior too sports the quintessential AMG traits like the combination of red and black in the trims and materials used in the cabin. The multifunction sports steering wheel that's draped in black leather comes with red contrasting. The upholstery in done black Artico man-made leather. The instrument cluster also sports a Race Timer that basically keeps an account of lap timings during track driving. The cabin also comes equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system that can be paired with the optional Burmester surround sound system consisting of 9-channel DSP amplifier, 13 speakers.

And then finally to the heart of the matter.The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine that is used in other AMG models as well. This motor puts out 367PS and generates a peak torque of 520Nm and is mated to 9-speed automatic transmission. The performance of which can be altered with different modes - sport, sport plus and manual. Also, there is the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drivetrain that is configured with a rear bias.
