2016 Jaguar F-Pace to be launched in India on October 20
Jaguar Land Rover is all set to launch the F-Pace SUV in India on October 20. This is the first SUV under the Jaguar moniker and is based on the CX-17 Crossover concept. It was initially unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and features the company's new Lightweight Aluminium Architecture seen in cars like the XF and the XE.
In India, the Jaguar F-Pace will be offered with two diesel powertrains – a 3.0-litre V6 and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine – with an 8-speed automatic and an all-wheel drive system. The 2.0-litre engine, which will be available in the lower Pure and Prestige variants, puts out 180PS of power at 4,000rpm and 430Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500rpm. Jaguar claims that these variants will do 0-100kmph in 8.7 seconds with a top speed of 208kmph.
The R-Sport and First Edition variants of the Jaguar F-Pace get the larger engine, which produces 300PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 700Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. According to Jaguar, the 3.0-litre F-Pace will do 0-100kmph in an impressive 6.2 seconds with a top speed of 241kmph. According to Jamshed, who drove the F-Pace in Montenegro, the SUV's agility "inspires more confidence and excitement than most sedans".
The Jaguar F-Pace measures 4,731mm in length, 2,175mm in width and 1,651mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,874mm. This makes it longer and wider than its main rivals, the Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan.
The Jaguar F-Pace will also be loaded with all the latest features, one of which is the company's All Surface Progress Control (ASPC) – a low-speed cruise control system that helps keep the car under control in low-traction conditions. The top-spec variants of the Jaguar F-Pace will also get the 10.2-inch InControl touchscreen system (instead of the standard 8-inch touchscreen) along with a 380W Meridian Sound System (instead of the 80W stock system).
