2014 Auto Expo: Audi A3 sedan, A3 cabriolet and Sport Quattro Concept unveiled
German luxury car maker Audi has made its presence felt at the Expo with an array of unveils and special attractions at its stall. Below is the list of products which were on display:-
Audi A3 Sedan and cabriolet:Audi has unveiled the A3 sedan in India. The much anticipated sedan is based on the MQB platform and once launched will be the German car maker's cheapest product in India. A3 is expected to be launched later this year with an estimated price tag of around Rs 25 lakh.
The car measures at 4.46 metres in length and seats five occupants in comfort. Practicality is further enhanced with a 425 litre boot space.
The car will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version is powered by 1.8 liter TFSI engine which produces peak power of 170PS and 320Nm of torque. Diesel A3 will get a 2.0l mill churning out 152PS and pulling power similar to the gasoline engine. Both the engines will be mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The A3's design theme is aggressive and elegant with a touch of edgy styling.

The A3 sedan is further expected to increase Audi's market share once it's launched and will be pitted directly against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA and BMW 1 Series sedan.
At the Expo Audi also showcased its A3 cabriolet which is two door, four seater retractable rooftop version of the A3, and is aimed at a more joyful and exciting driving experience.
Audi RS7 Sportback:The RS7 is Audi's most powerful offering in India. With a price tag of Rs 1.28 crore (Ex-showroom Mumbai) it is also one of the most exclusive. It is four door, four seater sedan with supercar performance.
560PS of raw power is delivered by the 4.0 liter, twin turbo (TFSI), V8 engine. 700Nm of mind numbing torque is at hand. Power are fed to the wheels through Audi's all wheel drive Quattro system and is transmitted through an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The RS7 accelerates from 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds and is electronically limited to a top speed of 255kmph, but this limiter can be deactivated if specially requested by the customer giving this car a top speed of 305kmph.
Audi R8 V10 Spyder:
Audi R8 is a supercar which can also be driven to work every day. Priced at Rs 2.11 crores (Ex-showroom Delhi) that drive is definitely not for me and most of you.
It is a supercar and has an engine which fits that tag. Power is sourced from a 5.2 litre V10 capable of producing 524PS at 8000rpm and max torque of 530Nm from 6500rpm. Audi's Quattro all wheel drive system provides the traction for all that power. Transmission is an S-Tronic dual clutch seven speed automatic.
Audi R18 E-tron Quattro:The 2014 Audi R18 E-tron Quattro is a hybrid and one of the most complex race cars built by the German manufacturer. This racer will be participating in the LMP1 category of the LeMan 24hrs endurance race. The 2014 version is similar only in looks with its predecessor but is virtually a totally new car underneath.
The German manufacturer made history with the 2012 version of the R18 E-tron Quattro by not only participating in LeMan's 24 hrs with a hybrid drive system but also winning the LMP1 category.
Audi Sport Quattro concept:
The Quattro concept is a reincarnation of the original Ur-Quattro of the 80s which boasts of a rich rally heritage but with a modern adaptation for the sports car of the future. This is just a concept and production is not likely in the near future.
The performance figures are stunning for a hybrid. This car is capable of 709PS (515KW) and 800Nm of torque being developed by its 4.0 litre twin-turbo, TFSI V8, which is coupled to an electric motor. Power distribution will take place through a modified 8-speed tip-tronic transmission.
